Salt Lake City Police investigators survey the scene of a murder early Friday morning April 18, 2008 in Salt Lake City. A man was found dead in his apartment at 1867 So. 400 E. According to Salt Lake City Police Lt. Isaac Antencio, the victim was found by his adult daughter and had been shot. Border War

(1 0f 12) The portion of the wall that divides Mexico and the United States located west of San Luis del Rio Colorado, Mexico, is clear on of it's both sides. Throughout 2006 this wall and much of the American southwest has become a focal point on the fight against Illegal immigration. Throughout 2006 this wall and much of the American southwest has become a focal point on the fight against Illegal immigration. Blanding police say they can pull over dozens of cars a night carrying undocumented immigrants and workers to Interstate 70 and then points all over America. Black is the only spanish speaking officer on the force and spends much of his time in the evening questioning undocumented immigrants.

Many do not have death dates, but rather the dates their bodies were found. Every year scores of immigrants die in the desert or simply go missing while trying to enter America in search of work.

Patriot Guard riders

Patriot guard 8959 JUBpatriot guard 9156 JUBPatriot Guard Riders escort a herse from Evans-Early Mortuary in Salt lake City in the pre-dawn hours. Approximately 50 riders turned out to escort the remains of Gabriel deMoors (cq) to the Salt Lake City International Airport for a flight to Atlanta. Gabriel passed away due to SIDS in 1994 at the age of two months and was buried in Utah. His father, 1st Lt. Joseph D. deMoors, 36, of Jefferson, Alabama,  was assigned to the Army’s 3rd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colo, and was killed in Iraq in January 2006. He was buried at the  Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery in Alabama. One of last wishes was that his son be buried next to him. After the flight, members of the Patriot Guard on the east coast escorted Gabriel to the cemetery in Alabama to be laid to rest next to his father. 8/4/06 Jim Urquhart/Salt Lake Tribune
